Westmeath companies are being invited to apply for an e-commerce website development fund offering €10,000 worth of support to 10 companies nationwide. The IE Domain Registry (IEDR), the managed registry for Ireland’s official internet address .ie, launched OPTIMISE, a new e-commerce website development fund for Irish SMEs worth €100,000. The OPTIMISE fund is one of a number of initiatives to mark the 10th anniversary of the organisation which manages the .ie domain in the interests of the Irish internet community.

Plans to progress a Westport community radio station are advancing well as the steering committee behind the venture is now set to meet with the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland.

The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI) has announced that it will seek applications for six new community and community of interest radio services during the course of 2009. The Commission had sought expressions of interest in new and existing community and community of interest services in September of this year.
